Ben Witherington debunks the claim put forward by James Cameron and others that an ossuary containing the bones of Jesus has been found. This story made the front page of the Toronto Star this morning as well as the Globe and Mail, which posted a more circumspect follow-up story on its site a few hours ago. As Witherington suggests, it must be getting close to Easter and a good time to make a quick buck from sensationalist nonsense about the historical Jesus. Did anyone hear a peep about the Gospel of Judas after last year's splash?
